2012 Hurricane Season Is Here
Once again we turn our attention here in South East Texas to the Gulf of Mexico as The Atlantic Hurricane Season begins. We have had two named storms already this year before the Season had started. Add that to the fact that it is this Hot this Yearly in the year and I am predicting that the Hurricane Season this year is going to be a little more Active than we have seen in the past few years.
I stayed in Angleton, Texas during Hurricane Ike in 2008. I am pretty sure I will not stay through another one. There was no damage done to my home when Ike roared ashore however we did experience three hours of 80 mile per hour sustained winds and a loss of power for more than 8 days. This is really something that you have to be prepared for evacuating or staying. It is not something that you can just jump up and do quickly.
Either way you are going to need to have a plan together and act on it when the time is right. These storms are unpredictable and you know that the Media will play the hype to the end about each one of these storms. Now the majority of them will be small and harmless but you know that each will be called dangerous so don't let the over-hype of the News media cause you to drop your guard. Any one of them can be deadly. We will talk more about these storms as the season goes on.

Two Big Rigs and a Car
We Are Broken
I have been watching and paying close attention to our World and Way of Life for the past several years. It seems that in the last few years of my life there have been Significant Milestones Achieved. The election of our first African American President, Retirement of the Space Shuttle Program, and Collapse of the Economy are just to name a few.
In the Political realm you see it all the time on the News. Especially during the times of the Elections. Each side blaming the other side. Vote for our side because we are the only ones who know how to fix the problems. The problems are all the same time after time and they come from every side out there.
I have come to the conclusion that the problems are not created by our Governments as many would like to believe and in comparison, our Governments will not be able to correct the problems. This is because the "Problem" is ourselves and the fact that we are not able to get along with each other.
If you have watched "Star Trek" at any point in your life then you know that in the time that it is set in human civilization is far different from the civilization that we live in now. They did not have Currency, as explained by Jean-Luc Picard, the Captain of the Enterprise on "Star Trek The Next Generation" played by actor Patrick Stewart, the civilization believed in the betterment of mankind and not on monetary gain.
It would never work in our society now as it is not really the Currency which controls us but rather the Greed for the Currency. Years ago when I was younger you stopped on the side of the road to help a person in need. You waved at everyone as they drove past your house, and you didn't lock the doors at night in fact you slept with the doors open except maybe the screen door to keep out the mosquitoes. In our society today you can no longer do any of these things and it is not for being rude it is for being safe.
We are broken and when I say we I mean Humankind. It is not the Governments of our world that have led us to this point. It is us, the ones who run the Governments who have failed. With what I can gather we are going to continue to fail and our failure is only going to grow worse. It will continue to get worse until something happens to open our eyes.
We have had these catastrophic eye opening events before. The sad thing is that within a few years the scars of these reminders are forgotten. Not necessarily for the ones who endured the events such as veterans of the world wars or the survivors or family members of those who experience 9/11 in person but for the majority of us who just see these things on TV and never in person it sadly seems to fade away.
Will there ever be an event that will open the eyes of all humans? Will we ever live together in peace and prosperity?

Right On!
Quannel X today Announced a $1,000 reward for INFO leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the Robbery at a Day Care.
I can safely say that the person who did this was a Black Man because Quannel X referred to him as a "Brother." Also that a Real Man would not do such things.
So, Maybe everything isn't always "White America's" fault. I mean seriously, this was a "Brother" maybe it doesn't matter what your skin color is maybe it has more to do with Personal Morals. Seems dumbass is a multi-race issue.

Living in Houston, Tx has its good points. One of those is 107.5 FM "The Eagle" Houston's "Only" Classic Rock Station. Who at PM through the Work Week give us "Live @ 5"
A live cut from bands such as "Loverboy", "Lynard Skynard", and "The Who" making that rush hour a little better.
Just one of the perks of living in America's Fourth Largest City!

Trucker's Environment (Bunk House)
Honestly, sitting around in the "Bunk House" listening to a handful of truck drivers who each one happens to be doing the exact same thing that I am which is simply waiting around close by just in case a load comes up.
Every single driver in there has there own opinion on how the company could be run better. Funny thing is every opinion is different.
All the while a single TV plays on the wall where a few drivers may be watching re runs of game shows unable to really enjoy the episode for the noise in the bunk house from other drivers.
Sometimes you have the instant reminders like of how through it all we are all still animals and a driver will quietly walk out of one of the two shower equipped bathrooms with a sarcastic grin with the door left open into this noisy environment where nobody is paying attention. Until that is when the foul stench of Animal droppings hits them in the nose and their eyes begin to water. Of course you have the Sailor songs playing as a mass exodus is underway leaving only the poor smuck who was actually watching a television show. Who now opens the windows in the bunk house and turns up the TV.
